By the time you read this, you have probably figured out that this newspaper is, indeed, the Spartan Daily, even though its face has been rearranged.
We've got a great staff of returning and new editors, writers, photographers and advertising account managers this semester, and this crumpled paper you found on the desk in your 10:30 a.m. class wants to be a good friend of yours for the entire semester.
You experienced Spartan Daily readers will notice a few changes this semester, other than the paper's flashy new design.
After Sept. 2, our Friday paper will only be available online. You'll be able to download the entire publication as a PDF and read just as you would the actual paper, except the ink won't rub off on your hands.
The online Friday paper will still have all your favorite Spartan Daily features, including campus news, columns, sports updates and, yes, even classified ads and the amazing crossword puzzle.
Feel free to let us know what you think of our articles, design and opinions. Drop off your letters to the editor at Dwight Bentel Hall Room 209 or e-mail them to spartandaily@casa.sjsu.edu, but be sure to give us your name, grade, major and phone number, so we can be sure some sort of genius monkey on a typewriter didn't submit a letter with your name on it.
If you think you have what it takes to be a columnist, or if your pen is just overflowing with words, send us a guest column on a topic in the news or affecting the campus of about 800 words.
The paper will begin daily publication Sept. 12, so keep your eye on us not only for our coverage of campus news and events, but also contests and the voices of your fellow students.
