Mike Anderson
Issue date: 2/9/09 Section: Multimedia
Akiva Tor, consul general of Israel for the Pacific Northwest, came to San Jose State University for a discussion on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009. What was billed as a question and answer session quickly turned into a confrontation, with audience members chanting, "Free Palestine," and accusing Tor of lying.

I wish these people would realize how bad this is for their cause- it makes them look like fascists- restricting free speech to those they deem "politically correct". (Continued…)

In his pamphlet, Rules for Radicals, Saul Alinsky states: Power is not only what you have, but what an opponent thinks you have. If your organization is small, hide your numbers in the dark and raise a din -hat will make everyone think you have many more people than you do. (Continued…)

People keep claiming the Palestinians are "indigeneous", although there is no evidence at all to support this.
However, there is plenty of evidence to support the existence of a jewish community in this region, going back thousands of years. (Continued…)

I just watched the video, and I didn't see hate, but I did see passion and emotion, which often do break through the boundaries of polite discourse. I am a veteran of the Berkeley anti-Vietnam protests, and I know that we were often strident and shouted down speakers. (Continued…)
